I think just living as a woman is very lively. That's a woman's opinion, but there's more to it than just that. When I'm creating, I am aware that the "me" of the past, and the actions that were done to me by the opposite sex, lead me to live my life as a woman. As a human of the "female" gender, I want to use my art to organically portray feelings, desires, strengths and negativity that can't be expressed through words. I use a lot of female bodies, plants, and animals in my work, drawing out the femininity of their lines and movements through their innate ferocity. I also think there's a connection between femininity and the contrast of the beauty and sometimes tragic aspects of flowers. My cut drawings possess not only beauty but also strength and madness in their mixed-up lines, and that is a combination of my "present" and "perception."
